The tips I would suggest for any women-owned business would be much the same as I would suggest for any guy-owned enterprise with afew acceptions because success is not always gender nuetral.

Women have a harder time being taken seriously in Manley world of business, international or otherwise. Some tips I would offer include. :

1. Do not try to be like the guys.

Do not be pushy or overly aggressive, it looks good but in practice it will loose you sales in the long run.

2. Take some risks.

You will have to try and fail at a few things before you find success, a new product, a new employee. It will take time to find all the right combinations before you get the formula for YOUR Business just right!

3. Believe in your product.

Sometimes a thing will just feel right, this is a good indicator that you should go with it, if the product meets the critera for what you want to do for your client,Be it solving a problem or providing that nich service than go with it! You do not have to love the product for it to be the right thing to offer, it just has to serve your clients needs and your own desire to be a success.

4. Find your passion.

This is a easy thing to do at times, but not always. Know your self before you undertake a big financial or other burden to run a biz. Do you want to get out of bed at 5 am? Do you want to drive your own food truck, do you know how to manage your own time much lees the time of others. One major factor in your success model is "what you are willing to sacrafice for success". Know the answer to this question first before you dive in!

5. Face your fear!

This is much like knowing yourself as i stated before but with much more emphisis on facing those issues that you have ignored or run away from, anything you need to do that you are uncomfortable doing must be addressed, weather it is doing the books or public speaking or talking to clients on the phone or in person. It is not easy being in the spot light, in the BIG chair with all the eyes on you. Part of the reason the glass ceiling is still in place in many companies world wide is because many women are not attacking this barrier. Not to blame the victums but it is easier to get along and stay in the typing pool for some women that to crash the barriers that often present them selves today in some corporate and business environments. 6. Get a great support System.

At home and at the office it is possible to get burdened with too many duties or destraction. if you work from home, make sure your family knows that some hours of the day belong to your business, if you have a secretary be sure that you hire one that is competent and trustworthy. Do not hire family or the friend of a friend, charity does not start in your firm. If you have a office beyond the home try to cultivate an atmosphere of ease and professionalism, do not play where you eat, deligate authority to get things done, give people a task and see if they really can do it, then move them up to new tasks, this way you develope a team you can rely on, not just fill the chairs with warm bodies. Try never hire anyone you may have to fire, this is of particular importance with small firms. Office drama's can hurt your bottom line. If have to let someone go, do it your self and move on. Always surround your self with people who are as bright if not brighter than your self, minds that think out side the box are always best, just look at companies like Apple Computer or Google if you need some examples.
